Marcin Tarnawski

Violinist, conductor, lecturer. Since the beginning of his studies in 2003 he is connected with The Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz. He graduated in violin and baroque violin class as well as in the orchestral conducting. In years 2007-2016 he was a musician of the orchestra Opera Nova, in years 2006-2007 and 2016-2020 - Toruń Symphonic Orchestra.

His main artistic activity is concentrated on performing and popularization of the early music. He collaborates with such ensembles as Arte dei Suonatori, Intemperata, the orchestra of the foundation Academy of Early Music in Szczecin and Capella Bydgostiensis. He was one of the founders of Academy of Early Music association - the main organizer of the festival Bydgoska Scena Barokowa.

Lecturer in the Department of Early Music in The Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz. Organizer and teacher of Letnie Kursy Metodyczne Muzyki Dawnej in Warsaw.

Besides his artistic activities he is devoted to organizational works of academic project The Art of Perfection, which included building and running of the internet portal or organization on-line lectures.

During the first edition of Bydgoska Scena Barokowa festiwal in 2019 he conducted the Oratorium „La Resurrezione” of Georg Friedrich Haendel for the opening night. In cooperation with the ensemble Intemperata he performed the concert which was presenting the art of polish baroque composers; he also participated in the premiere of Mateusz Zwierzchowski’Requiem. In 2020, with Baroque Festival Orchestra of Bydgoska Scena Barokowa he prepared contemporary premiere of Nicola Porpora’ Filandro.
